Construction work on the range is completed and the range is open. There are a few items that still need to be cleaned up and/or finished, but those will be handled by a member work party in the next few weeks. The backstop berms for both ranges now have a "toe" of large redwood logs at the base. The purpose of these logs is to help keep the backstop material from gradually slumping out onto the range floor. These logs are sacrificial. That is, we expect that over time they will get shot up and have to be replaced. Don't deliberately shoot them, but we won't get all stressed out over a few errant shots hitting the logs.
The middle wall dividing the pistol backstop is gone. No more getting yelled at for shooting the wall.
